We received some sad news last week that I want to share.  Prof. Costel Denson, ‘Cos’ to us, passed away on April 23^rd after a long illness.  Cos was a two-term member of the SERDP Scientific Advisory Board and a favorite of the staff and fellow members of the board.  He had a long and distinguished scientific career including time in industry and academia.  Cos was a patient and supportive member of our SAB, always working to guide prospective PIs to the best project they could accomplish.  He was also the scourge of any PI that presented flow equations but was hazy on their meaning.  I was able to work closely with Cos as he took a special interest in the MR projects.  I’m happy that I will be able to attend a memorial service for Cos later this month in Delaware and convey the appreciation of the entire SERDP family to his wife, Carol, and family.
