As social media plays an increasingly important role in our office’s outreach efforts, we have decided to re-examine the structure of our presence on Twitter and Facebook. In as much as we operate five unique program areas, we have always regarded SERDP and ESTCP as a spectrum along which we delineate different areas of expertise, all working toward the goal of providing timely research, development, and demonstration supporting the Department of Defense’s (DoD) environmental needs.

The main account on both of these platforms will be a well curated, timely outlet for content from each of the program areas.  In the same way that we regard our programs as a spectrum, we are moving to structure our presence on these platforms in the same way, with content from each program area being shared together in complementary fashion toward our stated mission.  We hope to make this account a comprehensive resource for end-users, principal investigators, students, and anyone who takes an interest in the work being done by SERDP and ESTCP.

LinkedIn users will notice that we’re keeping our program area presence on that platform intact. LinkedIn allows us to be more in-depth and promote content on a more granular, technical basis than Twitter and Facebook, and for that reason we’re keeping those accounts as they are.

For those who have followed us and our program area accounts in the past, don’t worry, we will still be sharing the content that you followed us for in the first place, along with work being done in other areas that you may not have seen otherwise!  For those who haven’t followed us yet, it’s never been easier to see all the work being done by SERDP & ESTCP in one place; come join us!
