DAY 1 – Dialogue about climate change decision frameworks: matching climate information needs to decisions

Day 1 Objectives:

  • Establish a dialogue between OSD offices and military Service-level policy makers and analysts and the SERDP-funded researchers exploring approaches for supporting climate-sensitive decisions.
  • Inform DoD and the military Services of new developments in climate-related SERDP-funded research and analysis, including the nature of the work by current SERDP Principal Investigators.
  • Characterize and discuss information and approaches for addressing the range of climate-sensitive decisions within DoD and the military Services.
  • Identify an initial roadmap for continued engagement.

DAY 2 – Dialogue Between Decision Framework Project Principle Investigators and Military Service Liaisons

Day 2 Objectives:

  • Promote dialogue among the project Principle Investigators (PI) and between the PIs and relevant military Service liaisons.

    1. key individuals/stakeholders with whom to work the installations;
    2. access to environmental and facilities data at the installations;
    3. understanding the range of climate-sensitive installation-level decisions; and
    4. site selection and leveraged piloting opportunities.
  • Facilitate coordination between research teams and discuss potential cross-cutting, synthetic work.
